As a plein air painter Jill is constantly and peacefully shifting her easel from inside spaces to outside places. "She is a poetic, passionate, bold and gutsy painter," as stated by one of Jill's favorite mentors. Immersing herself in every subject is not a rare occurrence for Jill; it is the norm. Because of this, her paintings reflect the discipline, dedication and genuine love she has for the medium and subject she is painting.
Earning a BFA in Art Education from the University of Georgia was only the beginning of what has become a noted career in watercolor and oil painting, teaching and designing. Corporate and personal commissions, along with juried and solo exhibits have kept Jill's painting fresh and alive. Jill is currently serving on the Board of Trustees for the Columbus Museum (Columbus, GA), is a founding member and on the regional board of advisors for the Bo Bartlett Center (Columbus, GA), and an elder at First Presbyterian Church (Columbus, GA).
Opening September 7th, the LaGrange Art Museum (LaGrange, GA) will exhibit Jill's work. Her second exhibition at this museum, she has hung over 100 paintings in oil and watercolor, all of which were painted plein air.
